We create pieces somewhere between art and interior design
Bringing new stuff into this world of limited resources obligates the designer to make something that not only does its job regarding function but witch also has a deeper meaning.
MAOL has a background in cabinetmaking and music, and mixes everything from classic craftmanship to wild mix material pieces.
Bringing new stuff into this world of limited resources obligates the designer to make something that not only does its job regarding function but witch also has a deeper meaning. Something that lets humans ponder and lifts the spirit. Finding the sculptural in the functional is what MAOL is all about.

Snedkermester Marcus
MAOL works daily as a craftsman in his cabinetmaking business snedkermestermarcus.dk and is committed to keep the crafts alive as well as being close to the end user.
This is where new ideas flourish and this is where the communication for the next generation takes place.
Collaboration with UR | Art & Interior
The collaboration with UR art & interior is a perfect match of ideas, taste and vision. Creating tables that match the chairs of Overgaard & Dyrmann was a welcome challenge. The idea is to set the flowy lines of the chairs up with only square lines of the table so not to confuse the lines of either.
Moreover the tables posses their own sculptural quality. Made from base materials iron, wood and stone the tables have a certain everlasting quality to them. UR art & interior is a hub of exquisite art pieces and interior to match, and MAOL fits right in to this concept.
The blurred lines
The line between artist and designer is a blurred one and whether it’s a way for the artist make his or her way, or it’s a way of setting the designer free, it constitutes a way of working that makes sense on a number of levels.
Collaborating with other artists
Collaborating with other artists of different crafts MAOL brings together unique pieces of interior and nods back to the old masters as well as bringing forth a new vision.
